I find the best solutions always involve balancing things precariously!
Money problems? Balance your chequebook — precariously.
Need to carry a thousand dollars’ worth of equipment down a flight of stairs? That stuff’ll stack! Probably.
Neighbour’s kids making too much noise running around every morning? Sneak in and replace all the floorboards with tightropes.
Sometimes you confuse me. You spell Britishly, but then you used "dollars" as your unit of money. WHERE ARE YOU? D:
Haha sorry 'bout that! I do use Americanized spelling and terminology from time to time, depending on context — here with the "dollars" because to a lot of people "pound" is only a unit of weight (or something you do against a church window during a wedding ceremony shouting "Elaaaiine!"), and in a sentence about carrying things, I didn't want to muddy the water any!
That and it just sounds better :P
"A thousand quid worth", perhaps? XD
X3 I did consider that, but found in my experience that even fewer people seem familiar with that term :P
Well, I do watch an abnormal number of British game shows.
